Season 1 had characters I personally and ethically disliked (Marty) but they were so utterly engaging, captivating, that I loved them regardless. I vaguely liked all the characters their motivations were clear, but I didn't feel them the same way. I did not have the same time to get attached, or to get drawn in. I didn't get so wound up in the characters the way I did in season 1. It was a good show, don't get me wrong, better than most shows, but not so special. Likewise, my let down with season 2 was not the plot, and definitely not the actors (who were all incredible), but by how the story unfolded in such a way to not give me the same slow-burn character drama I loved in season 1. But more than that, I was embroiled in the characters, their stories, and the flawless way the actors portrayed them, and how the writing gave them the chance to slowly - carefully - reveal themselves. I did not like season 1 for it's unfolding of a crime story - I mean I did. Reading that review, I am totally unsure if I will like season 3 or not.
